Founding Lake Partner Program

Become a Founding Lake Partner

Cascade Aquatics is seeking a limited number of Midwest lakes to help validate a new approach to permanent phosphorus removal.

The process

From lake evidence to field verification

The six-stage Cascade Method progresses from diagnose to target, extract, capture, return, and verify.
Built around the lake—not around a favorite device.
01

Lake assessment

Determine technical and commercial fit.

02

Sampling & treatability

Characterize the actual water and compare treatment approaches.

03

Pilot design & permitting

Select the treatment train and regulatory pathway.

04

Field deployment

Operate the smallest system capable of meaningful mass-balance data.

05

Verification

Measure phosphorus export, economics, and lake response.

06

Restoration decision

Determine whether multi-season treatment is justified.

Candidate profile

What we’re looking for

  • Strong interest in improving lake water quality
  • Existing monitoring or lake-management information
  • Evidence of internal phosphorus loading or a concentrated inflow
  • An organized sponsor able to make decisions
  • Practical site access
  • Willingness to collaborate on data collection and permitting
  • Ability to support an assessment and potentially co-fund a pilot
  • Interest in grant or public-funding opportunities
Measured flow multiplied by the difference between influent and effluent phosphorus concentration equals the mass of phosphorus exported from the system.
The north-star metric pairs measured phosphorus mass export with improvement in lake condition.
